Marksmith Pro v2.0.3
Released: May 2026 · Platform: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
Every feature included. Free to use without limit.
You will see security warnings — this is expected
Windows and your browser will warn you because this is a new app not yet widely recognised by Microsoft. The software is safe — instructions below show exactly what to do.
Why: Code signing certificates cost £300/year. I kept the app free instead. The warning means Windows doesn't recognise it yet — not that it's dangerous.

Changelog
Version 2.0.3.15 (May 2026)
- Better auto-grade accuracy — grade calculation now weighs your selections across bands, so results better reflect the balance of your marking
- Cleaner PDF exports — re-exporting replaces the previous file; same-name students get consistent filenames every time
- Update notifications — a banner appears when a newer version is available; dismiss it and it stays quiet until the next release
- Smoother saving — marking quickly is more reliable; general stability improvements throughout
Version 2.0.3.13 (April 2026)
- Remark history in the selection bar — units with older rounds show the date of the current round; click to open the full history
- Demo class stays out of the way — hides from the dropdown automatically once you have real classes set up
- Projects stay where you left them — switching between units no longer resets your project selection
- UI Scale works with all dialogs — class and project dialogs size correctly at any zoom level
Version 2.0.3.11 (April 2026)
- Remark history — archive your current round before a remark, start fresh, and go back to any earlier round any time
- PDFs per round — each marking round exports to its own folder so nothing gets overwritten
- History travels with the class — export and import carry the full remark history with them
Version 2.0.3.08 (March 2026)
- Smarter project switching — each class remembers its own projects and opens them automatically when you switch
- Live student status — marked/unmarked status refreshes instantly when switching between classes
- Improved guided tour — fully self-contained with its own class and project, completely separate from your real work
- Auto-cleanup — clears old files from previous versions automatically on update
- General improvements — smoother, more organised experience throughout
Version 2.0.3.06 (March 2026)
- Import/export classes — mark at home, bring your work back in next day
- Share mark schemes — export descriptors and comment banks to share with colleagues (no student data)
- Smarter backups — auto-backup runs automatically; keep multiple restore points
- Moveable comment banks — drag and reorder comments within each heading
